WHAT WE KNOW? Amy Sherman Palladino. Need we say more? She is back,
Rory is back, Lorelai is back, Emily is back [we think]. Let’s be real… as much
as I want to see all the guys, they were always background players on this
show. Having said that, all seems to indicate that Scott Patterson (Luke) is
back and Milo Ventimiglia (Jess) was approached back in October. In addition,
Liza Weil has made it clear
that she would like to be included.
Apparently
negotiations have not been finalized with any of the actors yet, but… since
sets are reportedly being built
and all… I think it is safe to assume that they are not anticipating any
issues.
We also know
that each 90 min episode will take place in a different season of the year,
which I thought was a brilliant idea. And according to TV Line, one of the four core characters (Lorelai, Rory,
Emily or Luke) has a new love interest. My money is on Emily... and/or Rory. I
would also like to have all of Rory’s past boyfriends show up at some point [which also seems likely]

LEVEL OF
EXCITEMENT: HIGH
The more I
think about this, the more excited I get. If nothing else, I want Amy to have
the final word. But also… this is the type of show that is not ‘time-sensitive’
[or plot driven, for that matter]. It’s basically just people talking a lot. Update
the references and there is no reason this shouldn’t feel fresh and fun. This
is the type of project that could use nostalgia to its advantage. Can’t wait to
binge this with a cup [or several cups] of coffee.
